Oh, the Things you will eat!

Friday came, yes it did,  it came and it went.
But we enjoyed it, all three of us, one hundred percent.

There was work as always
but I'll just move right on
to the part of the day
that was especially strong.
I made toads in a hole,
the third time in a year
First dry then a bit mushy
but this time it was clear
That my recipe changes
made the taste really great
And my family loved it,
they all cleared their plate.
To accompany greatness
I made some awesome creamed corn
Though the Max didn't like it,
his taste I won't mourn.
It was creamy and sweet
with a Parmesan bite,
After baked in the oven
it came out just right.
Then on to dessert,
a banana-y treat
and something I knew
that the Max sure would eat.
A layer of chocolate
then vanilla on top
With chips in the middle,
we just had to stop
At one piece of this cake
per person for sure
Max couldn't resist
the lure of one more.
With a NO on my lips
and the time ticking fast
It was now that the Max
would be bedded at last.
And as if you didn't
already figure this out
I read Dr. Seuss
to the wee little sprout.
Then he laid down his head
for the 50th time
The day came to an end
and so will this rhyme.

Peace,
The Monkey Queen
