Snausages!

Sometimes I get a wild hair and I that is all she wrote!

The wild hair hit me hard this weekend and I become obsessive about completion of the task that the wild hair had found for me.  First was a dresser that I picked up curb side that turned out to be quite the find.

It is a beautiful solid wood 4 drawer dresser with dove tail drawers and a very art deco design.  It had a wood finish but was pretty beat up so I painted it white, put an aged patina over that with a light wood stain and softly distressed it so that it looked like and older piece.

I love the way it turned out and especially like that the pulls stand out more than they did before.  The pulls are really nice with a tortoise shell Bakelite piece that sits behind the pull itself.

Friday night I sat in the living room staring at that dresser for an hour or two before my obsessive side MADE me get up and do something with it.  Needless to say, I was up till about 3am fiddling with the dresser and then finished it on Saturday.  Whew!  Glad that is over......but wait there's more!

My wild hair decided that I needed to make homemade sausage!  So Sunday was the day that I made chicken Italian sausages.  I made some in hog casings and some patties.  They also turned out really good, a little spicy and actually good for you, in a relative way.

Here is the recipe I use for the sausages.  Chicken Italian Sausages

Now my wild hair has straightened out and I can actually rest a little and enjoy my beautiful dresser and my yummy sausages, oh yea!  and do my laundry and straighten up the living room and.......

Happy Sunday!
