Facile Friday - Brownie Anxiety

I know that I am supposed to have an insightful post on Fridays but…..

It is Thursday night and I am a bit inundated with a little brownie promise that I made.  After working all day, I am now in full on HOLY CRAP! mode trying to fulfill my off the cuff “sure I can do that!”.

1.       Shop for all of the ingredients that I need, as well as a way to transport them
2.       Get home before 6pm
3.       Clean the space that I will need in the kitchen
4.       Mix, Mix, Mix
5.       Bake, Bake, Bake
6.       Reach back into my high school math class memory so that I can quickly figure out how to cut these slabs of baked goods to achieve the 60 individual pieces that I need.
7.       Prep and wrap for transport
8.       Curl up on the kitchen floor and allow the dog to lick away the beads of sweat on my brow as I fall quickly to sleep and dream of……
MONSTERS WHO EAT MY BROWNIES!
OK, I am alright.  This really isn’t that big of a chore except that I started it at 6pm and it MUST be done tonight.  I should just buy the brownies but I am cheap and can’t bring myself to spend so much money on brownies.  I liken it to my view of some contemporary art, my rule is….if I can reproduce it, does it really deserve to be in a museum?  Does that have anything to do with my brownie issue?  Oh no!  If I'm unable to string together coherent sentences, will my brownies turn out right?
This post is giving me anxiety.
I am going to go now, but first I will create some good mojo.
I WILL MAKE WONDERFUL BROWNIES.
IT WILL NOT BE A STRUGGLE IN ANY WAY.
I WILL GO TO BED BEFORE MIDNIGHT AND SLEEP LIKE A BABY.
MONTERS WILL NOT FIND AND CONSUME ANY BAKED GOOD FROM MY HOME.
MAX WILL BE PROUD OF THE YUMMY TASTING BROWNIES THAT YOU MADE.
UPDATE:
I just wanted to let everyone know that as of Friday morning, I had completed my 60 brownie task with only a minor glitch.  The recipe that I was following did not have sugar as an ingredient so some improvising was required when I finally discovered what was missing.  They turned out good, albeit completely flat.  They are very chocolaty and fudgy the way that I like them.  I also got Max's seal of approval so I was good to go!  I also got to bed well before midnight.

Oh yea....no monsters consumed any of the brownies!  It turned out to be a great day.
