At his grandparents house the other day, Max took on this question and I have to say that I was pretty astounded at the answer that he came up with.
"It was totally the egg!"
"Why is that?" we asked and here is the answer we got.
"The egg came first because it started with parents that were something else, like a couple of dinosaurs or something."
"So you mean that it was an egg for a dinosaur and then it mutated into what is now a chicken?"
"Yea!"
Grandpa decided that he agreed, "That makes sense. Since there was no chicken before the mutation, it has to be the egg that came first."
Pretty amazing if you ask me, that an 8 year old thought this whole thing through so well. It makes me wonder what it is that they are teaching these kids in his school to make it possible for them to come up with this kind of theory.

Compared to that little tidbit, I would say that Max has a future in scientific discovery. What is it they say?......Out of the mouths of babes.
