Facile Friday - Sick, Sickity, Sick, Sick

Easter Sunday was a fun day but.......
I was at the doctor's office by Wednesday and I was in pretty bad shape.  I obviously picked up some kind of vicious flu bug that ravaged my insides.  Seriously, I ended up with bronchitis and this flu just danced past the pleasantries of letting me have a simple cold first and got right into the good stuff.  

I woke up on Tuesday morning and I was physically unable to get out of bed and stay awake for more than about 15 minutes.  I ended up spending the entire day and night in bed with the chills and then the sweats.  The hardcore coughing started in the wee hours of Tuesday and by the afternoon my brutalized airway was raw and painful.  Now I knew that this was definitely NOT a cold.  The issue was that I could not have made it to the doctor's office at this point.

This was about the time that I started thinking that a house call would be a glorious thing and would have saved me suffering through a good part of the day.  Do doctors do that any more?  House calls, I mean? A Google search turned up very few but they are there.  Milwaukee, North Carolina and a few others have groups of physicians that will make house calls for those who are elderly, home bound or would rather get a doctor's care at home.  Kind of cool to think that there are doctors out there who see value in treating patients where they are most comfortable.

I was able to get the the doctor on Wednesday and handled the 2 hours it took to get in, get out and get my prescriptions.  I ended up sleeping most of the rest of the day but I did it.  A doctor coming to my house would have been SO much better for me and anyone else exposed to my horrible flu.
