In the land of the Monkey Queen, where all the fruits and vegetables are home grown and the little monkeys go to bed when they are told, we will celebrate! August 3rd!
I would just like to say that I have been writing about the ongoing weirdness that is my monkey life for two years and no one has complained! That is a WooHoo moment in my world. Can I get a witness?
This whole blog thing started with my son, the one and the only true monkey. How he became “monkey” is a story filled with sex, intrigue, drugs and lots of sharp implements. Max has always been a source of hilarity for me, I hope for others too, and being able to document some of those stories was what inspired this blog in the beginning. My favorite story looks at the role that children play in the world and how parents can unknowingly facilitate behavior that can potentially come back and bite them in the behind! Don’t just take my word for it, read about it here. There are some pretty great stories back there in the archives and I think that you should peruse them all. I want to issue a warning though, PLEASE empty your bladder before you read too many. I can not be responsible for soiled upholstery or other accidents that may occur during the reading of these posts.
Over the last two years we have told stories about Max and his wonderful weirdness, our daring adventures and not so daring escapades. I reconfigured the blog because sometimes Max was just not entertaining at all! I included more random stuff. I took on being facile (moving, acting, proceeding with ease) on Fridays and once on a Sunday. I endeavored to be a Daring Cook and am still having a heck of a time diving into foods that I know nothing about. I got paid to write for other sites on the internet, my son grew a foot and I shrunk in diameter despite the fact that we made pasta, apple butter, strawberry and cranberry sauce and waffled everything we could get our hands on. We have moved forward at a rapid pace and I am so glad that you all came along for the ride. I hope that what you have read here has been fun, funny, insightful, eye-opening, interesting, thought provoking, or just entertaining. I also hope that we can celebrate the third blogaversary together.
In keeping with the monkey spirit, I will continue to use what I have and try to be creative with it. My monkey credo is “Take your one string and play beautiful music.”
Thank you to all of you, no matter how few, who have spent time with me here on the blog. I love living it, writing about it and sharing it all with you.
