A little bit of this and a little bit of that.
Let's start with a bloom in winter, well kind of winter.
Wisconsin really has not experienced what I would call "winter" so maybe it is not as cool as I think it is but.....
It is still pretty cool!
I got an amarylis for the holidays and after weeks of just kind of sitting there in it's pot, it suddenly shot up into a 3 foot high stalk and then, oh my!
I thought of candy canes! Really BIG candy canes.
Now, I want to talk about crossing over. Crossing over in terms of moving from adulthood to old age. I have taken my first step up the ladder of old age by having to finally give in and get...gulp...reading glasses. I ended up getting some progressive lenses (no-line bifocals) since I wear glasses everyday anyway. It is great to be able to read small print easily again but I am not ready to get old or older yet. So I tried what I am calling the diet drink ruse. You know, where you go and get a greasy burger with extra cheese and cheddar fries then try and cancel it out by ordering a diet drink.
Here is what I did...
Those are NOT old lady bifocals! That's what I'm talkin' about! Take that old age! Make me wear bifocals and I will make them too funky to identify me as old. Besides, my 7 year old makes sure that I remember how old I am. "Wow Mom! you're such an old fart!"
Thanks honey, I love you too!
